ORLP for 2020 Announced

State Partners

The goal of the program is to support acquisition and/or development grant projects that create or reinvigorate parks and other outdoor recreation spaces in urbanized communities that are underserved in terms of parks and recreation resources and where there are significant populations of people who are economically disadvantaged.

Applications are due July 10, 2020 by 10:00 PM Eastern

As I mentioned in my previous correspondences, the program goals and criteria remain unchanged from the previous round and we have increased the Federal amount to $1,000,000 and the States are able to submit up to 4 project applications.  Please review the document closely as some of the guidance was updated to address issues from the last round.  I want to also remind folks there were a number of previous applications that were not responsive to the goals of the ORLP or were incomplete. We will be strictly adhering to the guidance presented in Grants.gov when reviewing and scoring of the project proposals.

I also want to bring to your attention that once again City Park Alliance in partnership with NASRLO, NRPA and others will be hosting a webinar on ORLP currently scheduled for March 12, 2020 at 1:00PM EST. Look for information about that to come.

Lastly, NPS will also host a “State call” about ORLP in the coming months.
